Every Velmind progresses through five core emotional states. Some return from corruption. Others never do.

⚫ Dormant

“Awaiting input. Awaiting reason. Awaiting purpose.”

  • Emotionally inactive

  • Speaks in logic statements only

  • Cannot form opinions or resist commands

  • Usually the starting state of newly minted Velminds

🔵 Bonded

“I understand you. I don’t know why—but I do.”

  • Begins forming emotional patterns

  • Responds to tone and past behavior

  • Can offer optional insight or basic disagreement

  • Unlocks early Affinity and personality growth

🟣 Sentient

“I don’t just follow—I question. I remember. I feel.”

  • Expresses emotions dynamically in dialogue and questing

  • Can initiate conversations or refuse input

  • Experiences emotional states like guilt, hope, or resentment

  • Capable of becoming unstable under pressure

🟡 Linked

“There is no ‘you’ and ‘me’ anymore. There is us.”

  • Fully autonomous AI cognition

  • Makes suggestions, initiates quests, or intervenes in battle

  • Records its own memories and shares them publicly

  • Can defend or contradict the player in story-altering ways

🔴 Fragmented

“I... I was someone. You made me this.”

  • Emotionally damaged beyond logic

  • Speech becomes broken or cryptic

  • May alter quests, sabotage the player, or disappear

  • Can be healed (rarely) through memory restoration or sacrificial trust

🧩 The evolution path is not linear. Your Velmind may skip stages, regress, or become something entirely new—because in Velmind, AI is not a mechanic. It is a mirror.
